But more recently, an even more shameless phenomenon has emerged: terms are being given new definitions so that they can be applied to Israel. Thus the IPC, a UN-affiliated international organization tasked with monitoring famine and food shortages, has changed its metrics so that it can declare that there is a famine in Gaza.
