How Greece and Cyprus Helped Israel Battle Iran

And the global significance of their alliance.

Last month, an Israeli cruise ship was turned away from the port of the Greek island of Syros by a mass of protesters. While anti-Israel sentiment remains high in the country, its relations with the Jewish state remain good. The ship, it’s worth noting, was rerouted to Cyprus—which is not only a frequent travel destination for Israelis, but also a nation that has been part of an emerging three-way alliance with Greece and Israel.
