While the Jewish revolts against Roman rule in 66–73 CE (which ended in the destruction of the Second Temple) and in 132–135 CE (known after its leader, Simon Bar Kokhba) remain relatively well-known events, the Gallus revolt of the mid-4th century remains virtually forgotten.
