By Once Again Supporting Radicalism, Saudi Arabia Is Playing with Fire

And giving a gift to Iran.

In the decades since September 11—and especially since Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman took over as the country’s de-facto ruler—the Saudi kingdom stopped exporting jihadism, ended its funding of terrorism, instituted social and economic reforms, liberalized its laws, and tried to present itself as a modern, Western country. Now Riyadh has pivoted again, once more producing anti-Semitic and Islamist propaganda, showing a friendlier attitude toward the Muslim Brotherhood, and distancing itself from the United Arab Emirates and Israel.
