An Act of Congress Has Created a Breakthrough for Jewish Education

Public funds for religious schools.

Since the 1990s, writes Nathan Diament, U.S. jurisprudence has gradually shifted toward allowing public funds to be put toward private education. A few recent Supreme Court decisions have cemented that trend. Then, in July, Congress passed a major spending bill that included a measure to assist parents sending children to private schools, which could completely change the equation for Jewish education.
