Why an International Force in Gaza Isn’t Bound to Fail

More like Kosovo, less like Lebanon.

Perhaps the clause of the recent U.S.-backed Security Council resolution on Gaza that is causing Israelis the most concern is the one that calls for an international force to keep the peace. Israelis have had decades of experience with the UN Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL), which failed completely to keep Hizballah out of southern Lebanon, but served as an effective shield for the jihadist group.
