What “Wicked” and “Terrifier 3” Reveal about America’s Moral Confusion

For most, the Hollywood blockbuster Wicked is loved for its music, but looking beyond the vocals reveals its troubling implications. Liel Leibovitz argues that Wicked and another 2024 film—the horror movie Terrifier 3—expose our culture’s failure to understand evil. To Leibovitz, these films demonstrate the dangers of either rationalizing evil or accepting its inevitability. Our culture, he argues, needs to find firmer moral grounding:
