What Palestinians and Israelis Think about Each Other

And why Arab Israelis are most sanguine about peace.

Last week, leading Palestinian and Israeli pollsters released the results of an opinion survey of both Israelis and Palestinians from the West Bank and Gaza. The results, at first blush, are dismaying, with solid majorities of each group highly suspicious of the other and possessing little hope for peace. Yet closer examination suggests reasons for some very cautious optimism, and that is especially true if one looks at the responses given by Arab Israelis.
