Trendy Anti-Zionist Literary Manifestos

Ethnic groups tend not to offer certificates of achievement to those cheerleading their destruction.

Yesterday’s newsletter mentioned an open letter by Jewish writers complaining that the Jewish Book Council doesn’t do enough to promote anti-Israel writers. A similar argument appeared in the magazine Vulture in November, in what Phoebe Maltz Bovy describes as “a big-ideas-style feature about how North American Jewish literature is insufficiently about Jews self-flagellating over Israel’s role in the Israel-Palestinian conflict.” And now there is yet another version, by one Andrew Kreuter, in a Canadian literary journal.
