Jonathan Conricus and Eylon Levy belong to a very small club: both have served as the faces of Israeli public diplomacy in the English language in an official capacity—Conricus in a military role, Levy in a civilian one. Comparing their experiences, they agree that, for all the professionalism of the IDF spokesman’s office and those who serve in it, Israel has failed in conveying its message to the world.
