The Islamic Republic of Iran’s longstanding record of violent hostility toward the United States and its extensive support for terror should be enough to make Washington leery of opening the country’s doors to the regime’s former officials—all the more so given its brutal crackdown on its own populace and its provision of Russia with military drones and other technical assistance.
