Rabbi Joseph B. Soloveitchik famously explained the opening chapters of Genesis—and biblical anthropology—by distinguishing between “Adam 1” and “Adam 2.” His great-nephew, Rabbi Meir Soloveichik, more recently gave us “Seinfeld 1” and “Seinfeld 2.” In a new book, Anthony Julius, an Anglo-Jewish author best known for serving as Diana Spencer’s divorce lawyer, presents “Abraham 1” and “Abraham 2.” Rabbi David Wolpe writes in his review:
