Remains of Ritual Baths and Olive-Oil Presses from the Early Talmudic Era

A virtual tour of Usha.

After the Romans’ brutal suppression of the Bar Kokhba revolt in 135 CE, the rabbis reconstituted the Sanhedrin in the Galilean city of Usha. Archaeologists have exploring Usha’s remains have found a unique mikveh (ritual bath), as well as olive oil and wine presses. Herewith, a virtual tour led by Anat Harrel. (Audio, 7 minutes.)
