Iran’s Middle Eastern Rivals Don’t Want It to Collapse

The Iranian people have the most to lose.

Yesterday evening, the Wall Street Journal reported that the U.S. military is preparing to dispatch a second aircraft carrier to the Middle East, although the order for it to set sail has not been officially given. This, following the meeting between President Trump and Prime Minister Netanyahu, could be a sign that Washington is still considering a strike on Iran, or at least wants to threaten it. But the diplomatic ramifications are far from simple, and Trump likely faces pressure from Middle Eastern allies not to act. Aviram Bellaishe writes:
