Nonetheless, the Biden administration has made clear that it desires to revive the deal. Amos Yadlin and Ebtesam al-Ketb argue that simply to return to the status quo ante would be dangerous. Instead, they call for an interim deal to halt the Iranian race to develop a bomb, followed by negotiation for a more permanent and effective agreement:
