A Palestinian Dissident’s Remarkable Story

From reading Viktor Frankl to working in Israeli high-tech.

Immediately after learning of the October 7 attacks, a young Palestinian living in the West Bank took to social media to convey his horror at what had occurred. He now fears for his life and rarely leaves his family home. But this is perhaps the least interesting thing that this anonymous Palestinian shares in an interview with Bari Weiss, in which he discusses how reading Viktor Frankl’s Man’s Search for Meaning propelled him to seek an education in Malaysia, South Korea, and finally Tel Aviv University (which entailed sleeping on park benches and the intervention of an Israeli pop star), the shock of exposure to an open society, and much else.
