In December, the State Department has recently admitted, Richard Nephew left the U.S. team conducting negotiations with the Islamic Republic over its nuclear program. Nephew, who had been the number-two negotiator and had previously been involved in the talks leading to the 2015 agreement, reportedly believed that Washington was too eager to make dangerous concessions—a view shared by two of his colleagues, who have “stepped back” from their involvement as well.
