Dr. Doran 'Dodie' Katz

Dr. Katz serves as the Senior Director of Jewish Day School Strategies and the Dean of the Truman Scholars Program. Together with her team, Dr. Katz focuses on strengthening Jewish Day Schools through best practices in curriculum design, teaching and learning, and faculty development. She previously served as Assistant Professor of Curriculum and Pedagogy & Applied Linguistics, and Assistant Director of Graduate Studies, at the Middlebury School of Hebrew. She has held faculty positions at Brandeis University, The George Washington University, and has taught middle and high school students at Jewish day schools. Dr. Katz received her Doctorate from The George Washington University, with her dissertation research focused on the teaching of the Holocaust; and received post-doctoral training in the Psychoanalytic Studies Program at the Washington Baltimore Center of Psychoanalysis. She holds an MA from Brandeis University in Near Eastern and Judaic Studies; and a BA from Brandeis University in Anthropology, Hebrew Language & Literature, and Near Eastern & Judaic Studies.
